TV
is loosing viewers because they are rather using the Internet. The
phonebook is becoming more and more a redundancy. Nowadays people
browse the Internet for (local) information.
Customer
behaviour has changed - have you changed along with it? The question
is: can people find your company on the web?
If you don't have a website yet, you can still be visible online
by applying for free listings in Internet Directories such as www.elorafergus.ca
or www.ferguspages.com [NOTE]. If you do
have a website, it should be easily found in search engines such
as Google.
One
way to achieve this is by Pay-Per-Click Advetising. You know, those
small text ads at the top and on the righthand site of the search
results. Main players in this market are Google Adwords and Yahoo!
Search Marketing. Certainly, some Internet users ignore these ads
altogether, but the upside is that you have almost full control
over your online visibility. Find keywords to bid on, set an amount
per click, write an ad and watch the visitors come in.
But
be careful: as always, there is an effective and an ineffective
way to go about doing this!
